# Mu Calendar 📅

**Mu Calendar** is a lightweight, fast, and minimalist desktop calendar application with integrated daily note-taking capabilities. Built with **Vala** and **GTK3**, it is designed to run efficiently on standard Linux distributions as well as lightweight environments like **Puppy Linux**.

* **Interactive Calendar:** Seamlessly browse months and years with auto-marked dates containing notes.
* **Inline Preview & Quick Save:** View and edit notes directly at the bottom panel with instant saving.
* **Expanded Edit Window:** Open a larger dedicated text window for more comfortable note-taking.
* **All Notes Overview:** aggregated list of all your recorded notes sorted chronologically by date with search.
* **System Language Localization:** Automatically adapts its language based on your system settings (`LANG` / `LC_ALL`), supporting:
  * 🇬🇧 English (Default)
  * 🇩🇪 German (Deutsch)
  * 🇫🇷 French (Français)
  * 🇪🇸 Spanish (Español)
  * 🇷🇺 Russian (Русский)
* **Persistent Storage:** Automatically saves notes in clean JSON format to `~/.config/mu-calendar/notes.json`.

## Dependencies

Make sure you have the following packages installed on your system to compile and run the application:
* `valac` (Vala compiler)
* `gtk+-3.0`
* `json-glib-1.0`
* `make`
